Cool Hunting in the ‘Sphere

Filed under: Sphere Blog Partners — sphere @ 12:54 am

If you like keeping up on what is happening at the intersection of art, design, culture and technology, Cool Hunting or “CH” is the blog to do so. I like Cool Hunting because they have cool stuff (no pun intended), it’s succinct, they have great taste and they always point me to interesting, unique products and ideas. I first visited the site after meeting Editor-in-Chief Josh Rubin at AdTech a few years ago when both of us were being interviewed by Susan Bratton. That night, I told my wife that I heard about this interesting site and she said “everyone knows that Cool Hunting is the place to go for keeping up with cultural impact on products”.

So when we decided to reach out to top micro-publisher sites to partner with Sphere, I sent Josh a note and he agreed to try it out. The CH’Sphere plug-in finds related blog posts from the blogosphere and related articles from Cool Hunting’s archives. It also recommends three other great design sites: Josh Spear, Core77 and Moco Loco. It’s also one of our best performing plug-ins, generating a very high click through rate. We’ve seen similar patterns with other non-news Sphere partner site producing content like business (Duct Tape Marketing), celebrity gossip (AOL Entertainment), science (NYT Science) and architecture (DWELL). Please check it out and let us know your thoughts. And, thanks to Josh, Executive Editor Evan Orensten and Managing Editor Ami Kealoha for adding Sphere to your site.
